See the Tom Paine Festival in Pictures

by Basil Abbott last modified 13-July-2009 10:23

Seven months of colourful events, 1,800 people through the door, big names, a highly successful festival.

Mark Steel, Hugh Lupton, Horses Brawl, Norwich Early Dance Group, Peter Clark, The Men They Couldn't Hang, Trevor Griffiths: - this was a festival to match any in the country. A booklet, CD and film were also made. A 'fringe' developed as people had ideas for contributions. An artist decided to paint Paine's eyes in public, a local man made a plaque to Paine in the yard where he worked, the Foreign Press Association came down to Diss and were treated to street theatre on Paine's life. Re-live the festival by following the link. Tom Paine Festival In Pictures
