Thanksgiving Feast enjoyed by 50 people

by Gary Alexander last modified 03-December-2007 23:37

Slow Food Waveney Valley's latest event, a Thanksgiving Feast, was held in Diss Corn Hall on 22nd November and was a great success. About 50 people came for an American style meal of local food. Local turkeys, from Manor Farm near Norwich, were cooked to perfection by gourmet chef Freddie Jones of Frederick's Fine Foods, with a wonderful stuffing, and a vegetarian pie as an alternative.

To add to that, everyone who came brought a dish – either a vegetable or a dessert – made of at least some local ingredients. Everyone pulled out all the stops and there were really delicious offerings. A real feast as promised!

As a final treat, there was a fine performance from local folk group Rough at the Edges.
