Social events are the glue that binds a community, the times that people come together to get to know each other and enjoy each other's company. DissConnected will strengthen that with our own events and with listings of other events. (Click on 'events' in the main navigation.)

Our own events

DissConnected is planning to hold a series of its own social events, large and small around Diss. These will follow the successful pattern of recent events put on by Slow Food Waveney Valley, such as the Thanksgiving Feast and Gourmet Meal.

The formula: A quality meal of local food, followed by a discussion about DissConnected so people can participate in its governance, followed by entertainment of some sort. It is likely that they will be organised by Slow Food Waveney Valley for DissConnected.

We aim to make the DissConnected.Net website the most complete and current source of information about events in Diss, by enlisting the help of the people who put them on to create the entries (but assisted by our volunteers if preferred).

Moreover, we will create support for creating events, by listing venues and contacts for hiring them, plus sources of food and entertainment.
