Support for groups

by Gary Alexander last modified 29-January-2008 02:44

Does your community group or organisation want a website, or would you like an interactive website to link to your existing one?

Groups in DissConnected get their own home page, and a folder in which they can create as many additional pages as they want, including pictures and links, as easily as using a word processor. They also get a mailing list in which all members can participate in discussions, with an online archive. Groups can list their events in the calendar and news in the news section. There is an automatic page created for listing roles and responsibilities and a private folder visible to members only. Groups can add listings to the eXchange. They can also set up a task list and tracker, Google map links, polls and other facilities.

Community groups and organisations are what connects people to each other, where they work together on common interests. DissConnected provides support for any local groups that want it, whether or not they actively participate in its activities. The group section of DissConnected.Net is intended to give voluntary and community groups a good communication system for their members, and other organisational support.

Any member of DissConnected can create a folder for their group, (click on 'groups' in the main navigation) and then join any other members of DissConnected to it. All members of a group can add to and modify the content of their group's folder.
